my email account stopped working on my iPad. How do I fix it?

I changed my password on my email account and now I can no longer view my email on my iPad. How to I correct this? I tried changing my password on the iPad but it still doesn't work

Assuming that you are using an IMAP or POP3 mailbox, if you need to change your email password, it has to be changed in three places:


1) Your email provider’s Mail service - this is usually achieved via web portal.


2) On your device - update the SMTP (Outgoing Mail) password:

Settings > Passwords & Accounts > [Your email account] > [Account] > SMTP > [Primary Mail Server] > Password


3) On your device - update the IMAP/POP3 (Incoming Mail) password:

Settings > Passwords & Accounts > [Your email account] > [Account] > Password
