How do I prevent Personal Hotspot from automatically activating whenever a device decides to connect to my phone

I have multiple iOS devices (iPhone, iPads) all with same iCloud ID. I want to use same Apple ID in all devices because it allows me to use all features, apps etc with any device I choose. Different Apple ID in every device and family sharing does not allow do everything same way.

Because of same Apple ID I have problem: If I turn off personal hotspot In iPhone, my iPad still finds iPhone hotspot and turns it on and connects to it. I use hotspot when I’m not home, but in home I have WiFi And I want to use it (limit mobile data expenses).

How do I prevent iPad automatically override my iPhone’s personal hotspot off Setting?

No. It's the correct answer relating to the issue you described.

Suggest you read it again.

Your devices are using Instant Hotspot, a Continuity feature.

It is triggered by using the same Apple ID and Bluetooth.

Hey there Six Blades,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you want to prevent Instant Hotspot on your devices. We’ll be happy to help.

“With Instant Hotspot, the Personal Hotspot on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) can provide Internet access to a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch without requiring you to enter the password.” Take a look at this article for more details:

Use Instant Hotspot to connect to your Personal Hotspot without entering a password

To disconnect your devices, “turn off Personal Hotspot, turn off Bluetooth, or unplug the USB cable from your device.” You can find more info under “Disconnect devices” here:

How to set up a Personal Hotspot on your iPhone or iPad

We hope this helps.

Take care.

Maybe I described poorly my question. I do not share my Apple ID with others, I (only I)use all those Apple products (iPhone, iPads,...). I cannot turn off Bluetooth because I need it. I ( the user of phone) turn off personal hotspot from phone. But for a while it is turned on again automatically and iPad connects to it (not to my home wifi but iPhone hotspot). So iPhone does has its own mind and turns features on even if I no not allow it. It strange that phone can override user commands and settings by its own...

so there is nothing to do about it?

It is one of many reasons for not sharing an Apple ID. If you insist on disregarding Apple’s recommendations there will be consequences, and this is only one of them. See the 4th answer here—>https://appleid.apple.com/faq/#!&page=faq

It’s fine to share an Apple ID among devices used by one person, but not by devices used by multiple individuals.
