Apple Music error when opening in Catalina

When opening Apple Music I receive about 4 error messages, one of which is "Unable to verify the identity of the server “play.itunes.apple.com”.

I tried a fix from 2013 to check on the certificate but none of my certificates showed a blue dot.

Is there a fix for this that has worked for anyone?

Much appreciation to anyone that can help!!!

Hi SRCampbell!

It sounds like you’re seeing an error when opening Music on your Mac, and we're happy to help. Please make sure that the date and time is correct on your Mac:

If you're still having this issue, you can try running a security app such as Malwarebytes and removing any thread that the app finds:

I seems I solved my own problem. As it turns out, I was using ISP DNS servers that redirected the traffic through a not-so-transparent proxy. Kind of a "malware problem", just not on my computer. After changing the DNS name server settings, I managed to eliminate the interference with the iTunes API. I'm sure there will be multiple reasons that could cause the issue, this is just one.

I'm observing the same issue. Three different computers, two are Catalina 10.15.6 (but also observed under 10.15.5 after last security patch), one is Mojave 10.14.6, also with latest security patch). No certificates in the described state found. The issue shows in Apple Music / TV on Catalina and the older iTunes app on Mojave. The keychains are not synched via iCloud.
