Payment method declined

I am trying to make an in-app purchase but after I confirm the purchase it says that it cannot be completed at the time and it asks me to update my payment information. I use paypal as my payment method. I had made a couple of payments using it but now it won’t work. How can I fix this?

Thanks for the reply and additional information. We appreciate it! We've got some additional troubleshooting for you.


Verify that PayPal is still an accepted payment method for your location: Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID

The footnote for PayPal in that article does say you may need to verify with PayPal.

"2. You might be asked to verify your account with the payment method provider." Contact PayPal to verify all is well.


If PayPal advises they are not preventing use with your iTunes & App Store account, we've got something else you can try. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Tap on your Apple ID > View Apple ID > Manage Payments > Tap your payment method >

Verify everything is correct and select Done.


Try your purchase again. If it still isn't being accepted, we'd recommend contacting Apple Support for additional help. Get Support

If it's only in-app purchases with the issue, there may be a Screen Time restriction set up:

Thank you for your response but I have already accessed the articles before posting. I have followed a lot of steps thinking they would help but I still can’t complete a purchase. When my payment is declined theres a red message that appears next to my payment method that says “(verify)”. It keeps saying that even though the information is correct. As I said previously, the payment method did work before but now it gets declined. Thank you in advance if it can get fixed.
