I’m trying to update my phone and i had bought more storage this morning it’s now 11 at night. I clicked on the icloud section and it says i have 50 gb there but when i go to update it, it tells me i don’t have any storage.

The 50GB is iCloud storage, not space on the iPhone. You need to free up space on it and wait for the battery to charge to 20% before you can install the update(50% if you unplug it).
