backing up iPhone to external hard drive
How can I backup my iPhone to my external hard drive? I tried to do so via terminal and I was unsuccessful.

You cannot backup your phone to an external hard drive directly.
You can backup your phone to your computer, and you can store that backup on an external drive if you like.
