How can I make my iPad shipping faster?

I am looking for to buy an iPad before my college is open. However, the shipping of the iPad is so slow which won't be fast enough before my college is open (according to what they show). On the website, it shows that it will take a month from today to ship my iPad. I don't have a store pick up option. Also, I don't have the options to pay more to make they ship my iPad faster (they only show the FREE shipping method on my screen). Should I just wait for my college is open before I buy it? Will it usually come faster that what they show? Or Is there anyway to boots the preparing/shipping speed?
