Red flashing Battery icon when I hold down power button

My MacBook Pro isnt starting when following the suggested "fixes" and I hold down the start button for 10 second the battery icon comes on flashing red. Is it time to send it away?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We’re glad you decided to reach out about your MacBook Pro battery. If we understand correctly, when you attempt to power on the machine you only see the flashing red battery icon, and your MacBook won’t boot up past this screen.

If this is the case, are you attempting to turn it on while it’s connected to power? Try resetting the system management controller (SMC) with these instructions:

How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

If it isn’t coming on after the reset while connected to power, it may be time to have it serviced.
