auto-brightness

why are there two automatic brightness controls in the iphone? one under 'display and brightness' and one under 'accessibility'? I learned that I have to turn both off in order to control the screen brightness manually....... ??????

They are not both for Auto-Brightness.

Open Settings ➔ Display & Brightness ➔ Brightness - This is for manually adjusting the brightness. This is NOT Auto-Brightness.

Open Settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Display & Text Size ➔ Auto-Brightness - If this is ON and then this function takes priority for the brightness setting of the iPhone. If the screen then appears too dark or too bright then you can adjust by using the manual setting.
