No output devices found

Sound / Audio is not working

In System Preferences - i get No output devices found

Have already tried plugging headphones in and out and these resets below:

If the internal speakers on your Mac aren't working

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

How to reset the SMC of your Mac


MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Thanks for posting. Being able to use your Mac for audio is important. It sounds like you do not have any output devices in your Sound preferences, and you've done some troubleshooting already.


Since you've followed all of the steps in the relevant resource and reset both your SMC and NVRAM, we recommend getting in touch with Apple to look at your options: Get Support
