iPad disabled. No computer to reset

I have an IPad. Perhaps two years old. For whatever reason, it chose, to disable. From the initial 15 mins. to now one hour. I use the same four numeric passcode for years, so please don’t suggest I forgot. I have no computer at my disposal since I’m traveling and that it why I chose to take my iPad. Now what? I’ve shut it down, charged it fully, pressed the off button simultaneously w/pressing the home button but same response. Please Help Me!

iPad Pro, iPadOS 13

If your iPad is disabled, you have no alternative other than to follow this process:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT211078

You’ll need access to either a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of MacOS). The PC/Mac doesn’t need to be your own - that of a helpful friend or family member will suffice. If not available, the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store will be pleased to assist.

You’ll also need your AppleID and associated password. If these have also been forgotten, they can be recovered here:

https://iforgot.apple.com

To recover your credentials, you’ll need access to one of the following:

  • Your primary email address mailbox that corresponds with your AppleID
  • Any of the secondary/recovery email addresses that should be configured for your AppleID account
  • Any of the trusted telephone numbers (fixed line or Cellular/Mobile) that are associated with your AppleID

Unless you AppleID account has not been fully/correctly configured, or has been seriously neglected, recovery of the AppleID and password should not be difficult.

More information about recovery of your AppleID:

More information about recovery of your AppleID password:

When you recover access to your credentials, you would be well advised to log-in to your AppleID account from a web browser - and verify/update any email addresses and trusted telephone numbers:

Please don’t shoot the messenger. We can only communicate to you the procedure that you must follow for a given issue. Please remember that no contributors here represent Apple; we are all end-user customers, just like you. We try to offer assistance with technical issues where we can, but we are unable to offer alternative procedures that don’t exist.

In your case, if your iPad is disabled - or your passcode is not accepted for any reason - it is necessary to “restore” the device using either a PC or Mac computer. At present, these are the only methods by which you can regain use of your iPad.

The only other alternative is for you to directly contact Apple Support for assistance. They will guide you through the very same procedures that are outlined here. Should you wish to follow this path, the Contact Support link is at top-right of this page.

If you wish to express your evident displeasure, you might better aim comment to Apple using their product feedback pages:

So essentially what you’re saying is to carry a PC w/you at all times in the event your laptop malfunctions? And in the era of a virus that seemingly and miraculously flies around w/out borders in some cases and w/in others, Apple has closed all stores nationwide making for a less than desirable situation for their respective consumers?

I appreciate your assistance. I’m just fascinated by the fact that one HAS to own or have access to a PC in such a circumstance. Something I never thought to ask when purchasing nor what it discussed.

Furthermore, in a prior response which I don’t believe was you, the irony in suggesting that I go to “The Genius Bar” at a local Apple store.😉😂. No genius there.

Thanks but I’m out of luck.
