Too many passcode attempts on Apple Watch

My Apple Watch says too many passcode attempts but when I try to re set it , the app or watch is not giving me the general tab to start the re set process , all it gives me is an option to put in view finder to pair again

Apple Watch Series 1, watchOS 5

You might find things faster to start again by erasing it and deleting it from your Apple ID through iCloud. When you're done it should pair and set up as a new watch. It's easier to set up if you have a backup.
