Is there a way to animate only parts of table? If I select a table cell, and try to animate, it wants to animate the entire table, even if I select "by cell contents". In the "build order" it gives the order in which the cells will appear. (I chose "appear" as the action) However, I am unable to change the order.
Any suggestions? Or is what I am trying to do impossible in a table -- it has to be rendered all or nothing?

Animations can only be applied to the complete table.
The workaround I use is to remove the text from the cell to be animated then add a text box on top of that cell with the animation you want. Repeat as necessary.

That's what I ended up doing. It's a pity though that Keynote sets up a build order table for each cell but does not let you manipulate it.
