Mailing Gift Certificates

I am planning on purchasing iTunes Gift Certificates from the online Apple Store for all of my firends for Christmas, however, I want them mnailed to me and the I'll give them to them. What I was wondering is, when it asks for a mailing address, will this be placed on the actual gift certificate? or is this just on the envelope?
