Setting up voicemail error

I have a new iPhone 11, and I was trying to set up a custom voicemail greeting. I received the "error 1035" message. I tried to call into my voicemail by pressing the "1" on the keypad, but that doesn't work either. Any ideas?

You need to contact your carrier. The alternate way (if holding “1” doesn’t work) is to call your own number. If that doesn’t work then your account is not set up correctly, and only your carrier’s tech support can fix it.
