How to release some space on the other system category? It occupied most of my iPhone storage and I could not use my iPhone as usual.

If your device is new enough to be running iOS 13.. you could try updating to the release from yesterday 13.6..

Unfortunately the only other way I've found that works is to backup your phone, reset to factory settings (erases your device), and restore from that backup
