Unable to install any OS on my MacBook Air 2013

I had sudden crashes and shutdowns on my MacBook Air 2013, running Mojave. Now, I am unable to install any OS on this computer. Even after erasing the hard drive.

  • I have tried all recovery modes.
  • Internet recovery does not connect/work, throws up error 2002F
  • I tried installing High Sierra and Catalina using a bootable drive, with both the cases, it throws up this error, [picture below]

I am quite helpless at the moment with the situation around. Requesting help and support from the community to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance,

Melroy

You may have to erase the Mac and then go past the macOS Recovery to access online recovery.

Although your drive may be corrupted and not repairable; hopefully you've backups elsewhere.

The error code you cite indicates issues with accessing online recovery.

And certainly there are other support articles to cover slight degrees difference, over a few macOS.

I know the problem, when you want to install Catalina on an older system. Remember, when you bought your Macbook the OS was not for free and you have to pay for the newer version. I don't know from which OSX it was free. But this causes a problem for the older Macs. You cannot directly instal Catalina on it. You must have a registered legal OSX on your system, like Sierra or High sierra, than you can upgrade to Catalina. Your Macbook air is able to run Catalina. I hope I was able to help.
