iPhone getting hot

Last night my iPhone 11 Pro got extremely hot, a temperature icon appeared on the screen and it wouldn’t let my device be used unless it was for an emergency call only. The device became hot to the touch, I put it down to cool. The device wasn’t used for 6 hrs due to us sleeping. I got on it this morning and with min 10 minutes the device became hot to the touch again and the same thing happened and device is unable to be used. I’ve already wiped it clean and did a restore from iTunes and it still getting hot to the touch. Has anyone else had this issue recently, if so how did you resolve this issue?

What's the ambient temperature? Is the iPhone exposed to direct sunlight? The Temperature graphic shouldn't show up under normal indoor conditions and under low usage. If that's where you use it and it still overheats, you should probably contact Apple support.
