Can't log into my device with an activated ID

Hello team, so this is my issue......I reset my iCloud password to be able to log into my phone after I had restarted it. I had to activate the account after the password reset. Yet am still receiving a prompt that I can't unlock the device with the ID. Please how can I resolve this.

I think that Eric Root has identified your problem. There basically is only one thing he didn't mention.

In the rare case your device came activation locked from an authorized Apple reseller, then contact Apple Support and present your original purchase receipt for your device with the device’s serial number on it. You’ll need a photo ID too. If you also don't have the receipt, then the device is useless to you.

You can use the suggested support options below if you have the receipt. Alternatively, if an Apple Store is open in your area, then you can go there to deal with your problem. In this case, you can make a genius-bar appointment (https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/) if you want.

Are you seeing an Activation Lock? If this is a used device, you need to be able to contact the previous owner to have them log out of iCloud or go to https://www.icloud.com/find/ My Phone and erase the device, then remove it from their account. If you can’t do that, the device is useless. Apple won't unlock it.

Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support.

If necessary, if you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the Activation Lock if provided the required paperwork. Either take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened)
