How could a company like TeamViewer Quick Support scam Apple customers out of cash from their bank account.

The app itself isn't the problem. It's scammers purchasing it and then using it for criminal activities.
I've been receiving a call from a scammer every 5 minutes this afternoon. I had to disconnect my answering machine from the phone line. I have turned off the ringer on my phone. Very annoying!
It's not apple nor teamviewer.
I have no idea, I don't use Teamviewer.
This is a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple.
I use Team Viewer and never had that issue. They have been around for a long time.
TeamViewer Quicksupport is just an app. Anyone can donwload the app from the App store and pretend to be support and scam people.
It is not Teamviewer themselves doing the scamming.
As a rule of thumb, never let anyone have control of your devices remotely.
Neither Teamviewer not Apple have any way of stopping criminals from scamming unsuspecting victims.
