Need Mojave back

I need to downgrade from Catalina to Mojave or prior, because an important piece of hardware I use is not compatible. The link Apple provides here (https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT210190) does not work. Is there another place where I can download Mojave? Thanks!

How to Downgrade from macOS Catalina to Mojave or Earlier

You can try this Terminal command. Open the Terminal in the Utilities' folder. Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal's window at its prompt:

/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 10.14.6

Press Return.

Be sure you move any existing installers on the drive to the Trash, temporarily. Move them back once the download has completed.

that's amazing... thank you! on a different note... how do you learn to use terminal? what is the best method? i've taken a few online tutorials but does not stick. everything for me is easier and faster through gui, but terminal is very appealing because it is so efficient and powerful... but it's quite opaque to a new user... thanks for your help!

I learned to use the Terminal years ago when I first started using a personal computer - 1981. I taught myself, in part, and learned more from friends. I also learned Unix where you have to know the terminal. By the time I came to Mac OS, I had forgotten a lot of what I learned, so it's been slow catch-up but I had some background. I also spend time on Google looking for information about Linux and Macs, so I come across information such as the above command line. There are also several pretty good books on using the OS X Terminal. You will find them at Amazon Books. You also may find them through the Books app on your computer.

You can learn well from tutorials or books but unless you use the stuff everyday, it will be gone in no time. It happens to me because I so rarely use the Terminal.
