I am using a headset buddy line level adapter https://www.headsetbuddy.com/line-level-audio-input-adapter-for-iphone-smartphones/

with an iPhone X, an iPad mini or anything with a lightning connector, it works great. I have a Bose PA with an aux out going to the line level adapter. BUT it does NOT work with iPad Pro, which has the new apple usb-c connector. Even with an adapter to let me plug in the trrs into it, there's no sound. But for the iPhone, no such issues. I haven't tried it with an iPad Mini.

That's basically what I'm asking: what device will enable me to record line level aux input to ipad mini 4 through lightning connection? I've tried TRRS through the headphone jack but that doesn't work (although it works on android products and other videos say work on Apple products, but not on ipad mini 4 at least). Getting my question answered has proved incredibly difficult. Even Apple chat couldn't answer it, or explain the TRRS issue. First time, I'm considering just buying an Android tablet, but would rather stick with Apple. Hope you can help.
