Apple Watch 3 reset?

I sold my watch on eBay. The buyer said there was a lock on it and gmail address linked to it. What do I need to do so someone new can use the watch? And can I do it from my house even though the buyer has the watch?

This is what you have to do;

Remove Activation lock
