ITUNES for Windows does NOT have a "check for updates" option

My IPOD Nano is not being recognized by ITUNES. I hoped the problem was that ITUNES needs an update. But I can't find a way to force ITUNES to check for updates or do an update. There is supposed to be a button or option under the HELP menu in ITUNES to "check for updates" but it is not visible. The ITUNES version I have is 12.10.7.3

Is the "check for updates" option supposed to be under the HELP menu?

Or is there some way to force ITUNES to check for updates. ---- Thanks!

Windows, Windows 10

If you've installed iTunes via the Microsoft Store in Windows 10 then Windows will look after updating iTunes automatically. See If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support.
