Recents not appearing in dock

The recent check box in the dock options no longer works. I check it and still get no recent applications showing up!

FWIW, only apps that aren't already in the Dock would appear as Recents. Are there specific apps you run that don't appear?

Try the old trick of turning it off then on again.

Try deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist then run "killall Dock" in the Terminal.

The dock resets and the space for recents appears but it is not updating when you change applications!

Yes that’s solved it. I tried an app from launchpad and it appeared in recents. Thank you for the help. Very good!
