iOS 13.6 brings Facetime to iPhones on UAE but not other devices. Not possible to login with Apple ID.

With the introduction of iOS 13.6 Facetime is now avaiable in the UAE, however this appears to be only valid for iPhones. It is still not possible to login to Facetime on Mac OS using the Apple ID email addresses. We get the old "This account has no reachable addresses. Please sign in to appleid.apple.com in order to add one." when trying to sign in.

However my account has both my UAE number and Apple ID email as reachable addresses at all times.

Anyone knows if FaceTime will also be available through other devices on UAE soon?

I would like very much to be able to answer my calls on my Mac which can only be done if you're logged in to FaceTime.

Thanks!

Hi Ralph. Thanks for your help. Apparently FaceTime service is not yet officially available in the UAE as discussions are still ongoing with the Government. However FaceTime app is now pushed to all iPhones and iPads bought or used in the UAE as a first step in that direction. In theory we will be able to at least use FaceTime on these same devices in other regions which already support it but I personally have not tried this yet.

I have an iPhone X which i bought while i was living in Dubai, model MQAF2AE/A, updated it to 13.6, no facetime app. It is true though that i have a sim inside from my home country in Europe which doesn't ban facetime, but application did not appear.

phone region is my EU country, not UAE, and sim also EU. I am not on roaming as i currently reside in my home country. It might be related that i need the UAE sim and UAE region on phone ?
