The battery may be dead but I have an iPad 3 that was sitting in the box for about six months and I was able to get it up and running after charging it for a while.


Go through these steps first.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

You have a 2013, 1st gen iPad Air model.

That iPad is nearly 7-years old, now!

It IS HIGHLY possible that the internal, rechargeable battery in that iPad has failed.


I suggest contacting/reaching out to Apple Product support and services.
