how do I access files from a shared icloud account?

I have a new ID but all my files are associated with my wifes icloud account. I turned on family sharing but still do not know how to access these files

She will have to share the files with you - Share folders with iCloud Drive - Apple Support. Alternatively, you can have her download the files to a computer or external hard drive. Then you can login to iCloud.com with your new ID and upload those files to your iCloud account.
