is malwarebytes good security the mac recommend

It is a good app and works well with Mac OS however in it is not really necessary. If you use a bit of common sense it is not needed. The common sense is:

• Never download anything from a site you do not trust.
• Never use a Torrent to download software you did not pay for.
• Ignore emails, phone calls, voice mails .... anything that tells you your computer need maintenance, is infected or purports to be someone from Apple or some security firm.
• If you get an offer that sounds too good to be true, it is!

The VERY best security, antivirus, cleaning and maintenance app for Mac OS is Mac OS itself. Simply keep it up-to-date and otherwise just enjoy your computer.

I have installed MalwareBytes on my computer, but do not use the "Real-Time Protection" feature. It has never found anything suspicious, but I have used it to help some friends eliminate malware on their computer.
