Why is my iPhone se 2020 not backing up

Hi there I am trying to back up my iPhone and it says i need to Turn off my phone and charge it then it could back up when I do that it doesn’t work

I am assuming that you are talking about backing up on iCloud. You cannot back up an iPhone on iCloud when it is turned OFF. The iPhone has to be ON, plugged into the charger and connected to WiFi. Once you leave your iPhone to charge, connected to WiFi then go to sleep. Check back in the morning to see whether the back up on iCloud has taken place.
