Wiping a lost phone

Basically I lost my iPhone 11 about a week ago. I had a passcode on it. I’ve recently been using my another phone and if I try to log into my iCloud it’s asking me for the pin to the lost iPhone, if I put this in will it Unlock the lost iPhone so whoever has it can look into my lost iPhone?

second question, if that isn’t the case and it only I can access it through my new phone how do I wipe the lost phone so no one can access my personal data. Thanks

Can you answer this for me then? If I try to log into my old iCloud on my lost iPhone, it’s asking me for the lost iPhone passcode to access the iCloud right, if I put this passcode in.. will it unlock the lost phone? So whoever has it will be able access it? Or does it stay locked until you actually put the passcode in the lost phone Itself?
