Using the iPad Pro 2020 12.9 camera: Wide Angle, and Pano

1) How do I select the Wide Angle lens? I don’t see that option. I see Square, Portrait, Pano... is it an automatic selection, or am I just missing something obvious? Tried Googling, no joy.

2) In Pano mode, I can only capture in the “narrow” direction; clicking the arrow just changes the direction by 180 degrees, not 90. So I can’t do a “horizontal” pan along the long axis. Is that how it works? Is there a guide video to this feature? Google didn’t help me here either.

I found a YouTube video that explains to use the wide angle lens, there’s a “magnification” icon at the left side of the Camera screen when using that app. Initially, it says “1x”. Click on it, it changes to “0.5x”, which means you’re using the Wide Angle lens. So not completely obvious, but I should’ve seen it.

As for PANO, this is what the Guide says: “Tap the arrow to pan in the opposite direction. To pan vertically, rotate iPad to landscape orientation. You can reverse the direction of a vertical pan, too.”

This is BS, or at least is misleading. When I try this, the pan is STILL in the direction of the narrow dimension. I rotate the iPad, the pan direction ALSO rotates, cancelling out the effect. SO... I _cannot_ find a way to pan in the “long” axis direction, regardless of the iPad orientation. If that’s how it works (I’m betting it is), I wish the Guide (or ANYTHING on this site) would simply say so.
