Apple car play BMW X5 2020

Hi

have continuous issues with a 2020 BMW X5 and an iPhone X (also same issue with iphone7). Had the recent upgrade to the BMW os and have everything up to date and patched - seemed to make it fixed / better (ish)- have also renamed iPhone but still get random crashes of CarPlay with audible, pod cast and Apple Music - works for first 10 mins or so then gradually has smaller interruptions like bad connectivity then carplay in the car crashes - disappears from the menu and then re appears - massively annoying - BMW helpful (ish) but seems out of reach to my local dealer
