I'm trying to capture 'messages' to/from one person for more than one year. I'd like to then print them out. Does anyone know how I can contact Apple to receive instructions on how to DL from the Cloud? Thanks

Thanks for your response; I'm aware of the practice you mentioned. I wanted to 'retrieve' text messages over 1 yr. old even though I had stipulated 1 yr. in my settings. My error. I thought if it was all stored on the cloud they could capture; spoke with Apple...they don't. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it appears you want to download messages in order to print them out. We'll do what we can to help.
The only way to print out any messages would be the screen shot them and print out the photos: Take a screenshot on your iPhone
If these are text messages instead of iMessages, you might be able to reach out to your carrier for further options.
