Iphone Passcode/Restore Issue

I tried to reset my passcode and my phone won't recognize the new one or the old one, potentially a software glitch? So I restored my phone thinking I'll just set it up again and log into my appleID and restore account info. The issue is now I can't sync into my apple ID for my imessages etc. because it keeps asking me for my previous iphone passcode, I then got locked out of my phone AGAIN and I tried the new passcode I made after restoring and previous passcodes.

I just want my imessages and all that to sync, any thoughts?

If you see an option to reset encrypted data, several people have posted they did that and lost little to no data.

Did you try resetting the passcode as explained in the article below?

Passcode - If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone or your device is disabled.

Yes, I did it again and I am in my phone but I cannot backup any of my previously saved encrypted data without the old passcode. This isn't the end of the world, but my trying to figure out what the old passcode was is why I got locked out again. I've just did a master restore and am going to accept losing previous saved passwords etc.
