Logic Pro X 10.5 - Audio Input Extremely Low

I've got a synth plugged into a Røde AI-1 audio interface via a 1/2" audio cable. In logic the input and output are set to the Røde interface. The synth, the interface and the channel strip all have volume at 100% but I can barely hear anything and the signal/noise ratio is terrible. The channel strip is reading at -53.9dB. When I change to 'built in outpoint' the issue is still there. Can anyone help?

Oh I was using a line input! Plugged the synth into the mixer and the mixer into the line input and now it sounds great. Thank you!

are you using the Rodes instrument setting for your synth?

I meant are you using the instrument setting on the interface for your synth not a line input?

I'm not sure what you mean. It's on an external instrument track in Logic. It's a Korg Electribe 2S and doesn't have a Rodes instrument setting. Does that help?
