Every time I Click on Settings, the VPN Reestablishes

VPN Reestablishes Whenever I Click Settings:

How come every time I click on Settings on my iPhone, it automatically connects to a VPN?

My Apple ID is getting issues with this - I lose Apple ID connection and I have to sign back in - and posts are having issues over going through or not going through on the forums, as a result.

I thought my iPhone wasn't responding.

So, something is up.

How Re-Perform this:

First, I am getting a "Not Responding" connection from being connected on VPN. So, I manually disconnect from VPN in Settings. Then, the VPN successfully Disconnects from the VPN. Finally, going back in to Settings, the VPN is undesirably, automatically reestablished

Hello TheLittles,

After reviewing your post, it seems like you are able to turn VPN off, but it will turn itself back on when you go into Settings. Since this happens with only the Settings app, there are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. We would recommend you read these articles and use them to help troubleshoot the issue. We'd like to specifically call out these sections.

"Force quit the app, then open it again

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Force the app to close.
  • Apple Watch: With the app open, press and hold the side button to show the power options. Then press and hold the Digital Crown to quit the app.
  • Apple TV: Double press the TV/Home button and swipe left or right to find the app with the issue. Then swipe up to close the app. You can’t force apps to quit on Apple TV (3rd generation).
  •

Restart your device

Restart your iPhoneiPadiPod touchApple Watch, or Apple TV. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

Check for updates

Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOSwatchOS, or tvOS. Then check for app updates."

If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

"Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before."

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

Please don't hesitate to let us know if the steps resolved your issue or if you need additional assistance.
