Password reset
I have recently purchased a new Apple iPhone and in the setting up - the password was changed and now I can’t access my Apple TV
to reset my apple password.

A password change may have invoked the activation of two-factor authentication. Two-factor-authentication works bit differently on older models Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation). You may be asked to type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field.
You may experience that the code is getting invalidated by the time it takes to enter both the password and the verification code.
Instead, try this: First enter the characters of your password (do not submit yet), then manually request a new verification code, then append that code to the password within 30 seconds, then submit.
