2010 Mac Pro stuck at Bootup screen with Apple Logo and Progress Bar at 2/3 (IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3)

My trusty 'old' but still working fine Mac Pro suddenly refused to boot up one day. After trying the following: -

  1. Resetting NVRAM
  2. Resetting SMC
  3. Safe Mode Boot
  4. Reinstalling current version
  5. Booting in Verbose Mode

I have narrowed it down to this message (it keeps cycling at this message),

IOConsoleUsers: time(0) 0->0, lin 0, elk 1,

IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

I had to take a video and go frame by frame to get the error. I dont think its a hardware issue, but Apple says my model is obsolete. I want to recover and grab some files off it before I reinstall the entire machine.

Would appreciate it if anyone could give some advice. Thanks!

Mac Pro, macOS 10.13
