How do I set watch as a pedometer?

Pedometer (step counting) is in the Activity App

It is just not a complication for a watch face (that I know of) so it is not front and center.

You can see you step count by opening the activity app on the watch or in the iPhone app

You would have to use a 3rd party app from the appstore as the watch doesn't have a pedometer app by default.
