i cant send or receive messages on my iphone

I’ve done everything that was suggested through Apple support, turning my phone off/on, turning messages and FaceTime on/off, I even contacted Apple support. They “sorted” the problem which only allowed me to send one text before the problem started again. I can now receive messages but they are no longer syncing with my iPad! I can send/ receive messages on my iPad which is odd!
