Family Sharing

So I already had an individual Apple Music plan for myself. My family set up family sharing so we can upgrade to the family Apple Music plan. However, when I went to join it said I was already in another family? I have never used family sharing until today so there is no way I could be subscribed with another family. Therefore it isn’t letting me join the family Apple Music plan, I even cancelled my own subscription and it still didn’t work.

Hey oh!

check settings > your name > family sharing see if it lists you as being in a family.

if not does anyone have access to your Apple ID (say a family member or friend who may be signed into another device somewhere maybe)?

If you don’t show as part of a family and have never been in a family you must create a family before upgrading to family plans. This handy link can help you with that: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201088
