I understand what you’re immediately asking, but maybe back up a step or two and explain why you’re trying to hide apps?
There might be a different or better way to approach this, if some additional background and requirements were available.
The main reason is to organize my apps with color coded icons. But I don't want to add a duplicate app just to have a customized icon.
