iPad Keyboard with Trackpad Question

I have a 2019 iPad 7th generation. I am looking at keyboards with trackpads.

Do the trackpads work seamlessly, as a mouse would? Also, to select options on the iPad, is it quicker to use the trackpad, or to use the touchscreen?

I also have a new Acer Chromebook Spin 311, (the touchscreen is permanently attached to the keyboard, but the touchscreen can be folded right around and used as a tablet) which acts exactly as a laptop does, and I suppose my question would be whether or not an iPad keyboard with trackpad would be the same as the seamless feel of the Chromebook setup.
