ipad pro says it is charging when it’s not connected to power

my ipad pro 11 inch 2018/19 ran out of battery this morning and i went to put it on charge and it said it was charging but wouldn’t turn on for 2 hours. now when it’s not on charge it still says it’s charging and just will stay out of battery, please help
