acOS 10.15.6 update in a loop

My macOS 10.15.6 update has been "running" for a week now, keeps on asking to restart the Mac, which it does, and then nothing...! Update Now does the same, leaving it overnight, it seems to have gone into a loop. How can I either complete or restart it - it is taking up data on every "loop"
