I currently have OSX 10.9.5 and would like to upgrade to the new mac OS Catalina. But I did not have an update in about a year. Im trying to downloand After Effects but it wont let me download it on OS X 10.9.5
How do i Upgrade my software if this is the first time will upgrade in a year?

Except for desktop Mac Pros, both versions require a 2012 or newer Mac model. Mojave requires a 2010 or newer one upgraded with a Metal-capable graphics card, while Catalina requires a Mac Pro to be a 2013 or newer model.
