My iPad is picking up what I am saying and adding it to the message I'm writing.

i have a new ipad. when I am typing a message it is picking up what I am saying and adding it to the message. I want to stop this

Perhaps you’ve managed to enable Dictation:

Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Dictation - if enabled, switch to OFF
