Hi, I got this when I woke up my iMac today. Definitely scared me for a second - thought somebody sent me a ransomware warning or something like that. 😂 When I logged on and logged out again, it disappeared. Still unsettled me and want to know what this was. Any answers would be appreciated!

Someone has gained access to your Mac and administrator password in order to replace the default Catalina.heic login image with what you presently see. hi, thank you for your answer! But if this is the case, why was it that when I log on and log out again, the same thing doesn’t happen again? If it has been changed, wouldn’t it stay this way till I follow the instruction in the video?
It it was a one-time experience, and does not repeat, then ignore the video. I cannot explain how it appeared, and then vanished with the next logon.
As far as I know, the only way to set a custom login screen background image is by using administrator privileges to place that image in a System Library Desktop Pictures folder. It would remain until replaced.
Yes they are stationary... I read somewhere someone had concentric rings in much more color and larger degree than mine and it happens when the device runs low on battery... not sure whether this information helps trigger any thoughts?
By the very nature of Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs), Shandyl, circular artifacts are extraordinarily difficult to come by!

If so, I have no clue.
Since they haven't secured, we many never know.
