myattwg.att.com
I have an iMac running OS X 11.10.6 and Safari 11.1.2 I'm having at least 75% of the URLs I try to visit, redirected with an error. No matter if I type a new URL or type the first two or three letters of a URL that I visit frequently at least 75% get redirected to;
myattwg.att.com
Then that redirected page either gives a 404 Error or the following message;
“Safari can't open the page "https://www.regions.com" because safari 11.1.2 can't establish a secure connection to the server “www.regions.com.”
I just used regions.com as an example. Each message has the web address that I was trying to go to, even if it's an address that I've been to many times or one that I'm typing for the first time.
What I've learned from researching my problem is that myattwg.att.com is a browser hijacker that redirects most of the webpages on each machine that it infects it's a PUP.
Many people online say that it's a way for AT&T to punish its customers when they are late payment or no payment. Well...that's not me, other people say that they are not an AT&T customer and they are having redirects.
I know my computer is old but I hope to be able to fix it.
Anyone know of a fix?
David
